Waking, he was aware of a woman lying in bed. She was spooned in front. Her breathing was slow and deep. Though he needed to use the toilet, he was reluctant to get up. The stars were still out brightly, though the moon had set. He took a breath and relaxed against her. She moved to draw him against her chest. Fingers laced in lest the hand might escape. Her breath continued regularly, as soon did his, passing back into sleep.
